
Healthy Respect Character Education Program: Grades 4 - 6
The Healthy Respect Character Education program focuses on self-esteem, self-confidence and self-efficacy. Students learn the skills necessary to resist unhealthy behaviors relating to alcohol, tobacco, drugs, violence. The program employs highly trained male/female instructor teams to present 26 interactive lessons. The instructors are hired, trained and evaluated by Healthy Respect staff and work in close collaboration with teachers on site in the classroom. .
The themes of Healthy Respect include Do NO Harm (to yourself, others and your future), abstinence until marriage, adoption as a viable best choice for an unmarried pregnant teen, and the importance of finishing high school and seeking higher education.

Our School is once again involved with Project Character. This program will accentuate the Montessori lessons of Grace and Courtesy.

The four CRITICAL objectives of Project CHARACTER may be summarized as:
(1) Curriculum Restructuring to focus on the Six Pillars of Characterrespect, responsibility, trustworthiness, caring, justice and fairness, and civic virtue and citizenshipin all content courses and on school-wide social problems,
(2) Implementation and Training among approximately five new target schools each year, and
(3) Integrating Computer ApplicationsThe Character Education Public Policy Analyst (CEPPA) and The Public Policy Analyst (PPA), all of which develops
(4) Learning standards in both character and academic achievement related to the new NY content standards.
